I thoroughly enjoyed Tim's contribution on Americade in the August issue. I feel he captured the event, as well as some of the history of the area and gives the reader a feeling of being there.

Although I have never attended this event, I have been to Lake George on several occasions and can attest to the quality of roads in the region. My visits to the area always occur during the months of January, February or March and are due to great skiing just up the road at Gore Mountain, or close by in Vermont. Even in the dead of winter, the roads in this area are always in great shape and the scenery is spectacular.

I really need to get down there on my bike. However, as Tim suggests, one of the other 51 weeks of the year might be better because I really don't like crowd scenes.

My thoughts exactly. I've rode down there a few times, and it's great scenery too. Hard to enjoy some twisty's when there's lots of cars tho. I'll stay away from Americade too, even when I do buy a gold wing someday.

My husband and I travel every year (he's not missed one Americade) from our home in Canada to Americade.

The first week of June has become a tradition for us. I take exception to your article Tim. Americade is much more than a motorcycle rally. It's a stage where you meet old friends, make new friends and have fun and ride ride ride. Riding is our passion, we put in excess of 25,000 k's on our Wing every year.... we're riders, rain or shine. Every year, and after 26 years we still find new things to do. We've done the boat cruises, the rodeo, harness racing at Saratoga, the dinners, poker runs, field events, guides tours, self guided tours, TOUR EXPO.... what a candy store! or just plain gotten on the motorcycle and pointed to where the suns shines on a catch as you can ride. The roads leading to and from Lake George are amongst the best.

Bill and Gini Dutcher, and their family and the family of staff and volunteers are to be congratulated on Americade, it is truly a world class event.... and Bill takes the time to attend his events and personally greet attendees, and most importantly he listens to what people have to say. He has truly set the stage and leaves no stone unturned.

So you don't like crowds? Well sorry, what did you expect from the largest motorcycle rally in the United States.
