On many forums, there are numerous threads.... post up pics of your bike, blah blah
...
Well, this one is for pics of your Man Cave, Dog House, Sanctuary, what ever you want to call it.

Mine's not too large. I built it under my carport. It is roughly 8 1/2ft x 24ft.
Wiried and insulated. Not big enough for the cot and beer fridge though.
There are plans in the works for the next few years to build a 16ft x 24ft one in the back yard. Then I will finally get a bike lift. No more crawling around on cardboard. Anyway here are the pics. Please ignor the VFR, in the pictures, she was rode hard, put away wet, and has long since been sold.
(Yes I admit it Ken, I owned a VFR)

During construction....

That looks awesome.

I live in a very old house on a very small property right downtown.

There is an old single-car garage with a crappy concrete floor - the moisture comes right up through it in the winter and rusts my spokes. It is full of crap, but is an okay place to wrench in the summer.

My workbench is in the basement, where the clearance over my head ranges from +3" to -0.5". Okay place to, say, rebuild a set of forks in the winter. But not great.

I have this fantasy of tearing down the garage and building a 1.5-car job with a loft. But I would never get a permit for it, so moving is my only option.

Bah.

Anyway, good for you. Looks great.

Dennis - that VFR treated you way better than you treated it!!! Can't wait to help you build the backyard shop, lemme know when to be there. I hold a mean flashlight!

I came up with a plan for my ultimate "Dream Garage" a few years ago. Room for the cars, the bikes, the lawn tractor/snowblower/garbage hauler, all the toys & tools. Bank of cabinets and chests, compressor, work bench, etc. Potting shed on the side to keep the little woman happy... the whole nine yards.

I got a quote to build it. The quote was almost what I paid for my first house. I said "but there's no plumbing, no heating system, no amenities of any kind, just space". Contractor replied "Yeah, but it matches the architectural detailing of the house. You can't just throw up anything, it has to be an appropriate statement, after all."

Then my wife reordered the priority list and we built a kitchen instead.

You did a really nice job on that enclosure / Man Cave. Hope you had all the permits.:D

In the summer I have the use of half of my two-car garage; my wife's car takes the other half. However, in the winter the bike gets pushed up against the wall and I squeeze both cars in there as well. No room to work over the winter, hell it is too cold anyway as there is no heat in there.

There is a guy down the street who built something like that inside his garage. I could never do that because I like to have my cars in the garage over the winter, since I really do not like to clear the snow and scrape the ice off the windows.
