ummm , if you want the high res versions , send me an email and I can fire them to anyone who wishes as the ones posted here seeming are automaticely reduced . The original sized are around the 1300 x 950 range . Ya , I really do love the gothic / vampire theme / subculture so ya , my artwork is pretty much all based around this theme .

I followed a link in one of MrSpock`s prevous posts and was very impressed with his work. Now what I really want to see is an insight into the motorcycle lifestyle of his home planet.

Thanks for the kind words :-) As for what the motorcycle lifestyle would be like on my "home planet " is about , well , right now I need to wait for a volcano to come and melt the 35 feet of snow we got here in Toronto . However , I am at the present time , bikeless ( gggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ) and going more insane with each passing day without a bike .

Ok , I showed y'all some bike so ya , ok , here are a few of my cars as well :-)

It has been a while since I last posted as my computer was down and out for a week or so . However , I was busy at school preping for final exams , working on last minute assignments , plotting world domination and in general , creating mayhem and debotchery .... oh ya , and a new motorcycle related bit of art . :) If you wish to see the full sized version as opposed to this itty bitty image , go here : http://mrspockofvulcan.deviantart.com/art/Chopper-1-81371715

I find the layer of smooth objects (car or motorcyles) on top of the hard backgrounds to be an interesting juxtaposition. The combo creates that surreal feeling you're going for. As for the chopper shot, I find the lighting to be off a bit and sightlines to conflict with each other. I PM'd you with details. Nice work... a bit on the dark side for my tastes... but hey... that's just me :D

Interesting - I don't recall either that chopper or the leather chick out front of Osgoode Hall anytime I was there. However there was usually a pair of R1100RSs parked out back bookending my KZ.

I have not recalled seeing the beemers at osgood hal of late but , I have seen a few time a few beemers parked outside the Supreme court on university ave , but parked in the bike area just off chestnut street . ( unless that was the area you also were referring to :-) )

Same bike area - that's Superior Court

Uwe, I know of very few lawyers or doctors on custom chopped hogs. There is one in my office who rides a fairly decked out VRod, but most riding lawyers I know are on Beemer GSs, sportbikes or Wings. In contrast, the blue collar contingent around here have the blat-a-blat two-wheelers in spades.

Nice Ru(i)n(e)s.

Now take a Ritalin and get back to the books. You can get a bike after graduation, not before. It'll be worth it. Trust me.

BTW, my skater dude son is always going on about "ollie-ing a six-set". Do you think a Rune could do that on those steps?

The job of resident schoolmarm and spelling Nazi is actually vacant, Tim.

Steve k, one of our regular posters here, used to get bugged silly by mis-spellings and syntactical errors. But Steve hasn't posted lately and I think he has given up in despair. I used to try to educate at one time, and managed to cure Uwe of writing masses of copy full of run-on sentences and no paragraphing. But lately he's become a better writer than I.

I did it professionally for more than thirty years. And then realised that there are some damn good writers who don't know shit about orthography and probably never will.

Did you ever read Merriwether Lewis's diaries (of Lewis & Clarke fame)? His spelling was home-made, quaint and very funny. But livelier prose you never did see.

New & reborn Priest , I hate to say this but for me reading is my BBBIIIGGG challenge . I am really badly dyslexic to the way i see the words is a freaky combination of polish , russian , chinese and possibly klingon :-) .... and I speak or understand NONE of these languages . If I actually would have READ every book assigned to me to read , I would STILL be on about page 3 or 4 on the first book ....... from three years ago . My profs have been awesome with me and have allowed me alternative ways to do assignments .

Actually , my university here really has some awesome technology available to me to help me with things like exams . I have available a program called JAWS that will read through the computer my exam questions and I can re-play it as often as I need . My Access Center at Ryerson University is one of the very best , not only for the technology available to me but also because of the awesomeness of the staff who REALLY do everything imaginable to make sure a student gets the best chances possible .

Spocko, you know of course that I make no criticism of your communication. You know also that I have huge sympathy with your coping with dyslexia. You, after you overcome it, will have a much greater understanding and sympathy with others who have disabilities and are coping with them. And that will be your great advantage.

Now quit whining about not having a bike. You will have one before long. You remind me of myself before I ever got laid. Then when I did get laid I wondered what all the fuss was about.

TimP

when I did get laid I wondered what all the fuss was about.

Same deal with writing.

There's official "Writing" which is full of art and style and joy and craft and is simply wonderful to experience, and then there's "Communication" which is making a statement, full of emotion, making a point, saying something important in whatever way you can.

Both are valid. Do one or the other, I don't care. If it's done with intent, and with heart, I'll read it and enjoy it. And thank you for it.

I'm not sure why people seem compelled to take things of individual beauty and smush them up together to create kitsch. The girl, the bike, the accessories (ok, ok, I'm an Industrial Designer. The helmet is nice.) are all attractive in their own right, but each looks degraded in a collage like this.

I'm not sure which I find more pathetic, the "artist" or the audience who likes this kind of thing. Mostly I just feel sad for the girl, the bike and the accessories.

What can I say, North Americans are so.......only in NA are people so offended by something as natural as breast-feeding in public. What a sad bunch!

Thank God things are different in Europe.

In my experience things aren't so different in Europe, or anywhere else on the planet. Bad taste varies (breast fetish in NA vs. ass fetish in EU), but it's everywhere.

And it's just as pathetic there as here.

just about said it exactly. I was moved to look up the derivation of "kitsch" in my American dictionary (which has more risky words in it than I would have the balls to include had I been the lexicographer). "Kitsch" comes from the German; means "gaudy trash".

The under-age, underfed female in the pic doesn't deserve to be there. What might better have been there was a full-sized, suitably dressed woman. One with a brain; as good at Karate, if needed, as with a pasta sauce; one who would be able to twist off the lids from jars herself, and then hand them to who's doing the cooking.

Kinky? Me? No, I just admire REAL women. Tits, legs, ass, hair, smell - the whole marvellous thing...

Age has nothing to do with it.

Over here, if a girl went topless at a beach (lets forget the legality issue and the fact that deprived guys wouldn't mind), a lot of people would be uncomfortable with that.

I also brought up the breast-feeding in public issue a few posts up. A lot of people are uncomfortable with that also.

Did you know that you can't go for a walk around the block with a glass of wine in your hand, at least not in Ontario. Simply unbelieveable!

KZDon , thank you for the very kind words .

Art is so subjective that it is perhaps that one thing can can evoke a real love hate relationship without having to say one ingle word . i chose to make my designs in the genre of gothic art / styling because gothic art and all that goes with it is indeed the lifestyle I live by / with . NO , i don't sacrifice little children and small animals , no , I don't drink blood and YES , I am educated ( and spell about as bad as one can spell ) and continuing forward in this area . For the record , my partner is a practicing witch and a dominatrix so , I draw from from many styles and have alot of material to work from . The love , enjoyment / appreciation of Art is very much like that of motorcycles . some will like certain bikes and others will dislike them . However , art , motorcycles is perhaps that last real bastian of expressivness and freedom of choice so ya , lets just enjoy it ride 'till the tire fall off and avoid oil slicks :-)

>themz words is so fancy for my teeny brain to understand<

Dyslexia is a perceptual handicap, it is not a mental deficiency. If you were born with a low I.Q., or were still coping with the booze habit which one or both of your parents had, we might be right in feeling sorry for you. If you were honest right now, you'd say that you were not motivated, or just too fuckin lazy to look in another book.

Just as a cop might legitimately say to a difficult client, "I don't make the laws, I only enforce them..." he would be taking refuge behind a handy way to lessen the stress of yet another weary day. If he were being deadly honest he would say, "I personally endorse the law which I am presently enforcing, and in my professional judgement you have taken unreasonable liberties with it. If I get much more lip from you I will consider calling for help and unlimbering handcuffs. Thereafter things will go badly for you". I can't blame him for choosing the easy alternative - he wants to finish his shift without a nervous breakdwon - but what's under scrutiny here is honesty, not expediency.

Be honest, Spock. You have a good-functioning brain. The term I used has been in the public domain since Fred Nietzsche died 108 years ago. Many literate people use it to describe something like the shit hitting the fan.

Is that Mother Bates in the upstairs window?

I dunno, shouldn't your work be getting brighter and happier now that Spring has arrived (except for Ivor, SBC and others 'way up North)? I admit the red ST has a lively air about it, but that acid rain shower in the distance would make a mess of any recent wax job. Isn't it about time for more pleasant themes?

Oh yeah. Your signature...

Hey Tim, you made me look to find Mother Bates. That is the only thing missing from this latest creation; or there could have been one of Spocko's favourite Gothic girls waiting on the porch.

I liked this latest creation. The colours in the approaching "acid rain" storm balance the red ST nicely and it looks like the sky is clearing, or that could be the the last of the blue sky before the storm, not sure. Anyway, I now have new wallpaper.

Thank you Spock.

Re the sidebar on spelling and syntax and the like; it was Mark Twain himself who made the remark Any writer who can't spell a word more than one way, isn't worth his salt. I paraphrase.

The Pacific Coast was available at the same time as the ST. PC's were avaiable between 1989 and 1998, but the latter years were not imported into Canada. The ST1100 was introduced in 1990 and was produced until 2002; it is still in production as a 1300. So the ST did not actually come from the PC, since Honda was making both at the same time.

The closest decendant that I can see from the PC is the European NT700V that has been around across the pond since 1998. The NT was finally brought over to the States last year and hopefully it will find its way to our region next year.
