I just found your note - and that I was busted - caught lurking again!

Its friggin' cold in Sexsmith -36C this morning and they tell us were're headed for -40 or better (worse?) whatever, bring it on - it'll kill the mosquito's and such.

Phil and I are indeed planning to make the journey to the show again this year.

I went to the farmers market today and did all the Christmas baking in 2 minutes or less. Good stuff. Helps you bulk up for these long winter months.

Dan and I had lunch together at the North Hill Inn in Red Deer (was it last August?) We decided - his observation - that if Sportbike from the City of Horses was there with us, we'd have had full attendance. But Sportbike is a recluse, so I don't know how we'd have managed that...

Dan rode in on a beautifully kept older GS850. Sexsmith is an hour or so north of Grande Prairie, which is a couple of hours north of Edmonton. He was going to return, eventually, via Rocky Mountain House where a family member lives and dies.

Lunch was meat-and-potatoes Western Oilpatch cuisine, with maybe too much butter in the gravy. But the young female who was looking after us said she was on until four, so we could sit until we were tired of sitting. And the pastries and coffee are pretty good in there.

These kinds of associations (there are not many) richen up my life hugely. For just about as far as I can spit around here, there are fundamentalist christians. (Small c intended.)

Phil and I will likely travel to the Leduc friday evening and attend the show on saturday. Breakfast - same place as last year. (My turn to buy)

I look forward to it my friend - and who knows, maybe Sportbike will jump in here and agree to make the short trip up the Queens highway and join us!
