One of the guys I know on another forum wants to come back to Ontario for a visit (he is in Halifax now) but his bike isn't up to the trip so he is thinking of flying up and renting a bike for a few weeks.

Does anyone know of somewhere in the Toronto area that rents bikes at reasonable rates?

The only place I know of Bob is GTA Exotics. I don't have any experience with them, nor have I heard of anyone that has dealt with them, but they will rent a Suzuki GS500 for $100 a day/$380 a week.

Oh, I should also mention to look closely at the insurance and mileage fees; clearly this is where those guys are making their money.

Because they're clearly losing money hand over foot renting a four thousand dollar motorcycle for ten percent of its value for a week, when a forty thousand dollar car can be rented for half of that.

What I've always said as well.

Motorcycle rental rates are rediculous enough. Its not like they are assuming a lot of risk...have you seen what the additional insurance costs, not to mention the security deposit which probably is their deductible to keep their insurance premiums down.

Even worse are those organized tour prices.

The guy might be better off buying an older used bike that's in fairly good condition and then selling it later (assuming he has friend(s) in ON that can help him coordinate that).
