Why is it Honda can come out with one real ugly bike, the NC700X and one not so bad , the NC700S, and this is considered a "REVOLUTION".
Suzuki's DL650 and SV650, Kawaski's 650 Versy's and 650 Ninja combinations are based on similar platforms, super economical and cheap.
What I see is Honda copying this idea trying to catch up to Kawasaki and wondering why Kawasaki has gained so much market share and Honda is losing it.

This "revolution" has been quietly going on for years now. I switched to a Versys last year after riding 4 cylinder 1000cc Kaw's for many years. The loss of weight, way better handling in city and congested areas, lower insurance and better fuel mileage were definite factors in my decision but the best factor is the FUN factor of a mid-size bike! The power is certainly adequate for the weight, and without a fairing I am less likely to cruise at 120+, something I did regularly before. I feared for my license then, still do on occasion but the speed comes in bursts and mostly I ride in the 100~110 range now. The Versys, SV650, and DL crowd are very dedicated to their rides. On the various forums the above reasons are repeated by most new owners. There are many farkles available to custom fit the bike to rider. What's not to like?
