After seeing Brittany Morrows video http://vimeo.com/22897515 recently. I have to point out that the female model in the article could have been dressed more appropriately. ATGATT Just a thought.

I believe that "model" was actually a regular rider and guest tester for CC, and there was nothing wrong with the way she was dressed.

Know the risks, dress as you like. Freedom to choose. The term ATGATT is condescending.

Not at all.

I watched the Brittany Morrow video (thanks for posting that, twinsport), and I noticed that, at the very beginning, she commented that she got on the back of a bike with no gear other than a helmet. The rider had it up to 120 when they came off. The fact is, I doubt she fully realized the risks--she may have made different decisons if she had.

I've come off, and lemme tell you, it happens fast, and it hurts (even with gear on). Braver men than I may prefer to ride without gear, but I'm an atgatt wimp...

I guess the point I am trying to make is that as a model in this magazine, that rider could be looked upon as a role model for others who are new to motorcycling and may not know better. So how can one choose? If they do not know all the choices. And besides its not just bikes that are represented in the mag its the whole industry, gear too.

You mean like the girls wearing fishnets in the Icon ads? and Bostrom wearing sneakers in the Shoei ads...;) I gave up a long time ago looking for truth in advertising, I have more hair because I did. Write the company advertising and try and make a change. At least she was wearing gloves and boots, more than can be said of the majority of the twits here in Deadmonton.:(

Coming back from the cottage yesterday I saw a new (I assume) rider on a CBR125 wearing a T-shirt which was climbing up his back in the wind, and no gloves. Reality. At least he wasn't in shorts.

Nothing compared to the two guys riding on the 400 on Goldwings, both in T- shirts and gym shorts and one with Crocs on his feet! Each had a kid on the back no more than 7 or 8 years old, wearing oversized open-face helmets and not one other item that could be called safety gear. One was riding so sleepily he almost swerved into me. Brutal. Is it just me or is this just begging to ruin your life? Sorry honey, I fell asleep on the bike and the kid bounced down the road and his helmet came off pretty much right away, but it's probably for the best because there wasn't much meat left on him when he finally stopped sliding anyway.

Unless I'm mistaken, the OP was commenting on the young woman pictured in the CBR250 article; as someone else noted, she's a guest tester--just because she's young and female doesn't mean she's in the same category as women who wear fishnets in ads...

As for her gear, or lack of it...as far as I can see, her jacket says Alpinestars on it, so it may well be proper protective gear; yeah, she's wearing jeans and "fashion" boots, but that's a sight better than sneakers...
