I just saw this on the Benelli Italy site, Benelli is back on top!

Benelli TNT Sport 1130 winning races in Italy!

The breaking news from last weekend is that a Benelli TNT 1130 #64, ridden by Angelo Conti...
...of the Dipiemme Team (entered by the dealership of Gianmoto) won the season's opening race of the National Naked Bike Championship of the Roadster Cup. The race was held at Magione circuit - Perugia - and Conti, besides winning the race, made pole position and set the fastest lap of the race!!
The following list shows the finishing positions of all the Benelli motorcycles that took part in the race:
1st Angelo Conti #64 Dipiemme Team - Dealership - Gianmoto
4th Luca Castratori #9 Dealership - Algeri Service
8th Stefano Giudici #37 Dealership - Adrymoto

I thought Benelli was owned by Asians.

I thought Benelli was owned by Asians.

just like Jaguar is owned by a company from India

Ducati was owned by a US company

Mini Cooper is owned by a German company

a Canadian company owns Rotax

but the bikes are made by Italians in Italy, if that was a question.....:D

Quite a few years ago Ford bought Jaguar and Volvo. Are you saying that now Ford is owned by a co in India? Or that Jag has changed hands again recently?

I think it was in March that Ford sold both Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors of India. Ford has been trying to unload their premium brands for a long time now; at one point it was rumoured that Renault would buy Jag, but obviously that didn't pan out.

I love the irony of a former pistol whipped colony becoming the masters of two symbols of British imperialism. Oh how the world turns. Although Ford lost billions buying and selling those marques, I think they're still going to be building the motors for them for a few years yet.
