After having time to read through the latest issue and seeing that Uwe is now gone, which obviously has stirred some inner feelings of a few....
Just a short note to the Editor and crew if you are reading or listening. I am a very long time reader and subscriber, over 15 years and after reading Neil and David's latest diatribes about being older.
Stop apologizing either directly or indirectly. For sure you need to kNOw your market but do you? I enjoyed the story from Neil earlier in the year about his New York trip and "My travels with Charley" and have been reviewing my options for cycle magazines that now fit my interests. Yep they do change and you can't be all to everyone.
If you are reading this you are probably over 25-30 and not so immersed in the i-tech crowd as to learn how to enjoy a good read, like a great ride.
Writers move on, products change, bikes change and times change but please don't forget that people like myself have been loyal for a reason - The content and interest in your magazine, which after your last edition I find is unfortunately wavering as you try to find your footing yet again.
I am not apologizing for following my interests nor my age so please stop apologizing for changes in style and substance (please get some more back). There is always Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and whatever if you don't want to read actual paper.
My bike history started with a Suzuki T200 then on to a Honda CB 175, Honda CB 500, Honda CB 550 x2, Honda CB 750 four, Yamaha VMX 1200, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, Yamaha XT 350, Harley FXR, Suzuki 650 Burgman and now back to a Harley FLHRC.
To me the bike is the tool, the ride is the destination.
Just some comments from a long time reader and rider..
