"When I veered a bit and hit snow, it shook the bike; it was 6 inches deep."

Didn't happen Stevo. Especially the soft rain soaked snow you write of.

Now maybe you shook a bit (with fear) as the snow grabbed your tires and as you quickly realized how close you were to completely losing it.

And the DN-01 "shivered" with the mounds of snow like you did?

Geez Louise Stevo..

I'm familiar with the use of poetic license.. but that, Mr. Thornton, is just poor.

Max, what's the best way to avoid running into the Aesthetic Police? Sounds like I might be one of a minority that actually doesn't mind the look of it all that badly. Of course I have never seen it in the flesh. And my crappy knees are likely affecting my opinion when I view those nice comfy looking footboards.

Good to see you back in there for a piece.

Didn't happen? How do you know that?

My description was accurate.

Because a bike is an inanimate object. It didn't shiver

And the only way riding into a snowy patch could "shake" your bike, is if there were frozen chunks of ice or slush ridges that was frozen underneath the snow. And given the description and time of year, and wet snow and wet wheel tracks you were following, we all know there were no frozen chunks.

I guess you must think I am busting your ass here a little. But had you just gone with the shook remark, I wouldn't have bothered bringing it up. But when you also would like to have us believe that the DN-01 shivered like you did, well that was just over the top and I thought I would do you the favour of reminding you that your readership simply isn't that gullible or brain-dead. Perhaps if you considered that writing like that, along with the assumption that people are going to actually read it, is a bit of an insult to our intelligence, so I called you on it.

If you don't want to owe up to the fact that you went over the top, then that is, of course, your prerogative.

RC, I'm with Koot on this one. Failing to see the source of your apparent outrage. And, of course, you made it everyone's business when you posted it publically here, so you can hardly complain if others comment.

I've always enjoyed your posts, but just can't understand where this one came from.

I appreciate your honesty, YD.

I think I am being affected by another article Steve did prior and I shouldn't let them bleed over.

I apologize Steve and to you also Koot. Sometimes I am too literal.
And sometimes I don't like myself very well. This is one of those times.

What you need, RC, is a nice bike trip so if you promise that the big ST can keep up you`re invited.

Keep up? Don't you mean Catch up?

Aren't you still in la belle province, I.B.? Perhaps your missives from Gaspé are being written from home, after your return? Or did you really leave? Is this the first example of a motorcycle staycation?

If I were you, R.C., and had the time. I'd take up that invitation and go find I.B. Let us know where you find him.

I think you are right IB. Ironically the good bike wx is also the wx I need to work in also. I do need to get out though, that is pretty evident. A lot of crap has been burying me.

Will do Tim. Although, you should try to hook up with us also? My problem with trips longer than a day is my dang knees. You'd think I rode a crotch rocket the way the pain sets in anytime after about 150 km.

Oh, another naysayer. Someone else casting aspersions at the veracity of my grand tour. Well, my three cylindered friend, the saga will continue.
